of trayvon martin, artist, activist chuck dee joins to us talk about his new project "beyond trayvon." you're live in the "cnn newsroom." and good morning, thank you so much for being with me. i'm carol costello. we begin this morning with what's being called the deadliest hot air balloon accident in the world in at least 20 years. 14 tourists killed today when a balloon exploded in the southern egyptian city of luxor. it's the site of some of egypt's most famous ruins. these were shot just before the explosion. rez reza sayah joins us this morning. >> reporter: this hot air balloon dropped 1,000 feet, the empire state building is a little more than 1,200 feet so this was a lengthy drop, officials say at least 19 people were killed, this incident happening in the city of luxor in southern egypt, the site of some of the most famous ancient ruins. officials saying 21 people were on board, almost all of them with the exception of the pilot were tourists, among them hong kong nationals, japanese nationals, british, the french. the operator of this hot air balloon was sky cruise. obviously ther

shows us where the former police officer has been spotted. >>reporter:the hunt for christopher dorner began last sunday, when two people were found murdered in a parking garage here in irvine california. it's then believed that dorner feld 90 miles south towards san diego. on tuesday evening, witnesses described a man matching his description attempting to steal a yacht from this marina. the attempt apparently failed when the boat malfunctioned. a few days later, items belonging to dorner, including his lapd badge, were found here near lindbergh field. then... two days later, 90 miles to the north in corona, two la pd officers were involved in a shoot out with dorner around 1:30 in the morning. one of the officer was injured and dorner escaped. a short time later, two riverside police officers were ambushed while waiting in their car at a stop light. one of the officers was killed and the other seriously injured. and finally, on thursday afternoon, a truck believed to belong dorner was found burning in the trees near big bear, a mountainous are about 100 miles east of los angeles. in

the republican governor, snyder, has about 30 days to decide what? >> okay, you used the expression detroit financially ruined. it is already financially ruined. bill to answer your question directly, seems like there are two options here, a bailout from the state or the feds. that means more money flowing into detroit from outside, or, bankruptcy. where a judge would decide who gets what. let me fill in the blanks here. detroit can not manage itself. it can not meet its current bills. it can't meet its payroll. it is literally weeks away totally running out of money. as you said it has $14 billion worth of debt it has not got a prayer of repaying. the governor of michigan has got 30 days to appoint a emergency financial manager that manager would take all the financial decisions for the city of detroit. what could that manager do? he could look for a bailout, money from michigan or washington, d.c. that would be essentially a bailout of sorts. or, could take the bankruptcy option. that would send a shiver down the spine of the unions because a judge would decide, do the unions get the pens
